Posey had seven catches for 175 yards and one touchdown – including a Grey Cup record 100-yard TD reception – in Toronto’s 27-24 CFL title game victory. The 27-year-old had 52 catches for 744 yards and seven majors in 2017.
He was originally drafted by the Texans in the third round, 68th overall in the 2012 NFL draft. The Ohio State product made 22 catches for 272 yards over three seasons in Houston.
The Argos put out the following statement about Posey signing with the Ravens:
Toronto Argonauts have released pending free agent DeVier Posey to allow him to complete a medical and sign with an NFL team.
Posey was set to become a free agent on February 13, 2018. According to CFL rules, Posey is allowed to exit his contract early to sign with an NFL team since he completed the second year of his contract.
