How are you going to be able to bring NBC and FOX into the TV deal when they are also partnered with the NFL??

Can’t have a U.S.-based team. American teams aren’t permitted by U.S. Law to have a Canadian player quota, so you’d have teams playing by two different set of rules.

Putting games on the N.F.L. Network would mean that the league would be reducing the number of eyeballs watching their games than they do now on the ESPN platform. NFLN has a smaller installed base than ESPN.

And there’s nothing wrong with the schedule as it stands right now. Maybe move the season up two or three weeks, max.

The CFL is/could/should be that spring league….add a US based team……reconfigure schedule……put games on NFL network….salaries would go up as a result of increased value of the brand. Same rules as now except relax the ratio

I want the XFL or a form of Football League in the Spring
I am football Junkie love it competition is good for player association
Cause it pushes Salary caps up the CFL is Canadian Frugal League
Nothing could help the CFLPA more then the XFL.

WFL, USFL, XFL, UFL, NFL euro and american development leagues. They all stood for something from the 1970s thru the 2012 or so time span. None made it past 3 years for 1 reason or another. If the NFL can’t make it work and prosper in a springtime-early summer season NOBODY can make it work. God bless the new XFL. Hope the tickets are very cheap!!

The USFL would still be around if Donald Trump didn’t bully and scam the other owners into moving to the fall. Teams in NFL cities got evicted from their stadiums and had to move or fold, and the loss of those big cities meant that the league lost its TV contract for its proposed call move. Had they not made those changes, there’s no reason they wouldn’t be around still. The league was growing fans and respect, and while there were some weak sister teams and underfunded owners, there would have been a large core remaining to still play today.

As long as the league focuses on football and not gimmicks, and is fine with slow growth, I can get behind this league. I can live with the first season being a little raw while the teams, coaches and players find their groove. I’m looking forward to spring football again.

I think the best way to go would be to try to bring back the equivalent of the old Continental football league or the old Atlantic Coast football league and I think it would be very wise of the owners of the NFL and CFL to work together to form a Continental league that would include cities like Portland Oregon Hartford Connecticut Victoria British Columbia Québec city
