Darian felt he was a top tier QB and should be paid as one.
Darian was able to scoop the coin from Kavis Reed for 1 season.
Now there is a very good chance that what ever he was offered in Winnipeg to supposedly carry a clip board. Is probably less than what he was offered in SK.

The west is shaping up to be a very interesting division for 2018. Qb questions all over the place. Will Jennings regain his rookie form? Will BLM recover from injury and play well not scared/ineffective? That latter point applies to Zac in Sask as well. ( Plus the Bridge factor ). Will Kevin play well if Riely gets hurt ( I believe he will ), and finally Winnepeg just got very dangerous if DD finds his s wager once again — DD can be dangerous and in the right cirumstances can dominate a game still. Plus DD is Calgary’s krytponie in playoff games!!! No Matter WHAT !!! THis indeed is shaping up to be a very very interesting year!!! Any club in the division could place worst to first for the first time in a long time , simply based on Qb play alone in my opinion. As a Rider fan I am somewhat fearful of DD regaining his mojo come playoff time , the man at his best is BEAST that has NEVER blantantly CHOKED in a HIG stakes situation. although his first 8 min of 2013 GC was shakey but he as we know he recovered quickly and nicely from that skakey start and was lights OUT !!! for the rest of game = Winner # Leader of MEN

Good comments, and outline of sustained success methodology. What I would like to point out is that Jones to his defence regarding FA’s, has been put in that position of somewhat leaning on FA signings/ retread NFLers early in his GM tenure DUE to the COLOSSAL mess left him by napkin fiend “TAMAN” who destroyed the Rider scouting system that had been build by child molester “Tillman”. Sigh , so starting from ground 1, Jones has managed to begin rebuilding our scouting; case in point Montcreif/Christian Jones, bit players like Francis . Jones supposedly this year will be more reliant on that system for young talent-less reliant on FA’s according to plan now he has a somewhat stable based of talent re-established after the Hurricane TAMAN disaster . ground

Sadly a LOT of TRUTH to what you have written , unfortunate for us as Riders that the 2 ALHPA egos JOnes and Durant could not find common ground- but that is all water under the bridge at this time. IMO a lot of Jones somewhat veiled disdain for ‘DD’ I believe is that “DD” vs Jones defence has gone DOubles way time and time again ( ergo Jones beat like a rented mule vs ‘DD” when it has counted.) In “dd’ mind I believe this has always been a sore point regarding his perceived lack of respect from Jones

Durant may have had a rough go the last few years but as he was saying in the conference call he can be a great safety blanket on the field reading what a defence is doing and in the QB room. I would be opposed to him going in as a backup or starter and doing well. He still has umpteen years of experience to share if nothing else.

you are correct, DD did great in the years when he was in his prime. The past few years, he has deteriorated quite quickly in his success. This may be due to injuries or his support cast but he has not been successful at all in the past few years. In sports it is all about what can you do for me now. Jones was right, DD didnt offer anything lately so it was time to move on. Every player will go through this.

the point Jones was trying to make is he can only go by what he has seen over the past couple of years and while he was coach with the Riders, not his whole career. DD has been below average for the past few years, no one cares about other years, it is all about now.

with a comment like that about Jones as a coach, you can then say that about every coach in the cfl, every year. They are all average at best then. It is impossible to be above average as a coach because going to the GC and winning it is hard as a coach to be consistent every year. So your comments are ridiculous.
