In reply to Nostredummass. What kind of crack are you smoking? Burkhardt will negotiate for Manziel independently. Reed, even if pursuing Manziel, has to keep adding to make camp competitive. If I am Reed I keep up the QB search even when and if Manziel is signed.

In reply to John. CFL contracts are not guaranteed. Maybe bonus’ or if veteran you have to be cut by a certain point in the season. He sucks in camp he goes home.

The last time he had over 100 passing attempts, passed for over 600 yards was 5 years ago. If he can play, he certainly hasn’t…much.

Just so happy that Kavis Reed is living up to his word, signing young talent they can develop into franchise quarterbacks. Can’t wait for Freeman to figure it all out and dominate this league, at 32+ years old.

Hope you take the time, descend to the uninformed level of we poor fans, and explain the complexities of THIS move, cher gerant.

Montreal May have signed josh Freeman to 2 year deal knowing that Manziel was not going to be available. Hamilton will sign Manziel and Burkhardt and Austin are finalizing the details. I believe it will be the same or close to what Masoli is making. They need to keep mazoli as he will be the franchise quarterback when Johnny Manziel goes to NFL after solid performance this season. Burkhardt should have a clause in contract that will release Manziel to NFL after this season.

Last time Freeman had more than 100 pass attempts was 2012. January 3rd 2016, Freeman throws his first touchdown since 2013. He’s 29 years old and hasn’t played a second of CFL football. Is this a joke?

Or has Freeman and Manziel’s agent Erik Burkhardt worked out some kind of package deal? That would be about Kavis Reed’s competency level: “If you want to sign Manziel at a reasonable salary, you have to sign Freeman as a backup.” “OK, deal.”

Really, after years of the CFL circus this franchise has become, I wouldn’t put it past them. It’s hard to see what signing a 29 year old quarterback with ZERO CFL experience can possibly bring. Other than Ricky Ray, most quarterbacks take several seasons to adjust to the CFL game.

I love the Matt Dunigan quote about for the first few seasons he was trying to figure it all out. So he ran, half of the time. Well…Freeman better be able to run…FAST. It’ll be a shocker if he can do anything else.
