The Argos are going to extend Canadian defensive tackle Cleyon Laing on a two-year contract, according to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti.

The six-foot-three, 280 pounder played in 11 games making 10 tackles, five sacks and forcing one fumble in 2017 while being named an East Division all-star. Laing added two tackles and one sack in Toronto’s Grey Cup win over Calgary.
The Edmonton native split time between the Miami Dolphins and Ottawa in 2016, appearing in three games with the Redblacks, including their Grey Cup victory.
Laing was drafted ninth overall by the Argos in the 2012Â CFL draft. The Iowa State product has played in 56 CFL games recording 73 tackles, 20 sacks and three forced fumbles.
