Duron Carter says Zylstra got short-changed by NFL, backs CFL talent

CFL all-star receiver Brandon Zylstra signed a reserve/futures contract with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings and Riders receiver Duron Carter feels he should’ve been given more.

A futures contract🤦🏾‍♂️ 1600 receiving yards seems like it's worth a little more!!! I wonder how many "NFL" WRs can do that in CFL

Zylstra led the CFL with 1,687 receiving yards on 100 receptions adding five touchdowns in 2017. Carter went on to defend the quality of play north of the border.

After signing a one-year deal for 2017 where he made around $130,000 with the Riders, the 26-year-old is a pending CFL free agent in February. There could be NFL opportunities for Carter, who said during the season that the league ‘better be’ watching him in the CFL. He’s already had at least one NFL look.

Carter led the Riders in 2017 with 1,043 receiving yards and nine touchdowns (including one on defence) during the regular season, earning him the Riders Most Outstanding Player award.

Even though Carter admitted playing in the NFL was his dream, it seems the charismatic receiver might be content and happy in the CFL where he believes the talent is better.
