Don’t forget Jimbobray. Collaros is not going into camp as the starter. He has to compete. Chris Jones has already ceremoniously dumped a QB he felt was being over paid. Turns out Jones was right. Collaros will be offered a salary of approx just over half of what he gets now. Plus all kinds of playing and statistics bonuses that can drive his yearly earnings way up. Jones is not a believer in getting your money for nothing. You have to work for it. You have to punch the time clock, put in the OT and show you can win on a consistent basis.

Jones is invested heavily in COllaros it seems, at least emotionally so far. Zach has a chance to get big money again, because the client has bought in, hook, line, sinker. Zach is 6’0″ tall, short for a modern QB, so he better have a great line to open passing lanes for him. Air Canada is 6’5″ and can throw over almost everyone. AC has more upside over time (NFL), there’s a risk of dissing Brandon too much here, he’s got a big ego and wants the ball right now. I have followed Zach closely since 2012 (Argo fan), and knew on his first snap he’d be a good CFL QB, and he is. He’s tough, but will now scale that back because of his past serious injuries. In Hamilton last year, Zach was running for his life when everything broke down and morale was low, prior to June Jones. He never got a chance after that as Masoli really came through for the ‘Cats. Masoli is similar to Zack… and perhaps a little more durable. All in all, I say Zach is a quality QB and could lead a GOOD team to the Grey Cup if healthy. But it seems Chris Jones is over the moon at the moment. Earth to Chris, come in Chris…Air Canada needs some love, he’s gonna be a good one and he’s so young…

Collaros must feel a little like a wrongly convicted criminal released from Death Row. I will be looking forward to his return here as a Rider to confirm to any skeptics that he was the one that got away. Actually one of the ones that got away. Mitchell, Austin, and now Tillman are perfecting their craft, at our expense.
