Bombers neg list QB looks for second straight Birmingham Bowl win

Dynamic Bombers neg list quarterback Quinton Flowers leads the University of South Flordia into the Birmingham Bowl today at noon.

The game will be broadcast on TSN.

This is the second straight year the Bulls are in the Birmingham Bowl. Last season, Flowers completed 23-of-32 passes for 261 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while producing 105 yards rushing and three more scores. The six-foot, 215-pound pivot threw the game-winning touchdown in a 46-39 overtime win against South Carolina, an SEC program.

The dual-threat signal caller, who was added to the Bombers neg list on October 29, 2016, passed for 2,812 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding 1,530 yards and 18 scores on the ground in 2016 as South Florida finished with an 11-2 record, the highest single-season win total in program history.

Flowers followed that up by guiding the Bulls to a 9-2 mark with 2,600 passing yards and 21 touchdowns and 972 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. The Miami native produced 503 yards passing and 102 yards on the ground the last time the Bulls played. He’s regarded as one of the most electric and explosive players in all of college football. The senior signal caller looks to end his career on a winning note.
