Stamps extend versatile offensive lineman Brad Erdos

The Stampeders have extended national offensive lineman Brad Erdos.

A four-year veteran out of Simon Fraser, Erdos had been eligible to become a free agent in February.

Erdos was part of a Calgary offensive line that allowed the second-fewest fewest sacks in the CFL in 2017 and also helped tailback Jerome Messam break the 1,000-yard mark in rushing for a third consecutive year. He started all 20 games – 18 in the regular season, the Western Final and the Grey Cup – at right guard.

“Brad is an important member of our offensive line and it’s good to have him back,” said Calgary president and general manager John Hufnagel.

Erdos, a fourth-round selection by the Stamps in 2012, has played 42 career regular-season games as well as three post-season contests.

“I’m happy to be back in Calgary,” said Erdos. “It’s a great city and I enjoy playing in front of our awesome fans.

“The players and coaches here are some of the best in the league and I’m excited to get the chance to work with them again. We have some unfinished business and are ready to take another run at the Cup.”
