Rich Stubler in play to become Alouettes defensive coordinator: report

Rich Stubler could end up on the Montreal coaching staff as the defensive coordinator, according to Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette.

Rich Stubler remains in play to become #Als’ defensive co-ordinator. More talks will take place on Thursday, I’m told.

The 68-year-old is coming off hip surgery.

Stubler has been a defensive coordinator for the Ticats, Argos, Eskimos and Stampeders. He was a head coach for one year in Toronto going 4-6 during the 2008 season before he was let go.

He helped Toronto during free agency before being relieved of his duties with the Argos when Jim Popp and Marc Trestman came in. Stubler was paid by the Argos for the rest of the 2017 season.
