I hadn’t read the whole Bleacher Report article before but I just did and it’s very interesting. I don’t think their writers are professional journalists, and the guy made a bunch of factual mistakes about Regina that 5 minutes of fact checking would have prevented, but never mind that. The article describes quite well the kinds of off field issues that derailed Richardson’s NFL career. The insecure crowd always has a conniption when players like this come to the CFL and they throw around terms like “NFL washout”, but the reason these guys aren’t in the NFL has nothing to do with talent. It has to do with things that go on between the ears, and this article is a good description of how that happens. After reading this I really think Richardson SHOULD come back for another year. I think he needs to really show, including to himself, that he has his priorities straight and that he’s established the right professional habits and routines. He’s only 27, and a low mileage 27 at that, because he’s been out of football for a couple of years, so he potentially still has a lot of football ahead of him even after next year.

Failed experiment, huh? Anyone who improves every game doesn’t deserve that handle. Terrific how the armchair experts, who figure fantasy football is better than the real thing…can determine who is a failure. That’s why there are football people making decisions and not goofs in the living room. Good luck to him and hope he gets a shot. If not, he’s welcomed back.

I read the Bleacher Report story… just came away with how they think we’re all quaint and small town people. And, that Richardson is freezing up here… Hello, but didn’t he play in the summer here until he got hurt? And maybe if he lands in the NFL, he’ll be in Buffalo… it was ice cold there too last week. As much progress, the CFL makes, their is a skewed view of the league there. It impacts potential players coming here.

Showed well in a short period of time. Seemed to improve with each game. All reports were that he was always in the film room, weight room or on the field. I’m not sure he’ll get a look in the NFL in 2018 but if he wants it, the Rider brass would be more than happy to open camp with him joining Marshall and Thigpen.

There’s plenty of good running backs in the US. He’s in tough. Hasn’t sufficiently reestablished himself in the CFL.

He seemed solid, but we didn’t see that much of him to see potential. But there are new guys with tons of talent like Wilder… I think the NFL would be way more interested in him than Richardson.
