The Alouettes continue to search for a head coach and two fresh names emerged from Montreal Gazette reporter Herb Zurkowsky.
Two new names surfaced on Monday, according to a source: Kerry Joseph and Danny Barrett. Joseph is a former CFL quarterback who played for Saskatchewan when Reed was there as an assistant coach. He’s now the co-offensive co-ordinator and receivers coach at McNeese State. Barrett is a former Roughriders head coach and now the Miami Dolphins’ running backs coach.
Joseph was the CFL MOP in 2007 when he led the Riders to a Grey Cup championship. He played quarterback for 12 seasons in the CFL for the Renegades, Riders, Argos and Eskimos, throwing for 28,097 yards, 148 touchdowns against 126 interceptions with a 58.4 completion rate. The dual-threat pivot added 4,584 rushing yards and 63 touchdowns on the ground.
Barrett was a long-time quarterback in the CFL and he was the Riders head coach from 2000-2006 compiling a 57-68-1 regular season record and 3-5 in the playoffs.
