CFL all-star defensive back to workout for Chicago Bears

Stampeders cover man Ciante Evans has scheduled a workout with the Chicago Bears on December 20.

The 25-year-old started 17 games for Calgary in 2017 making 53 tackles, six knockdowns, team-leading five interceptions and one forced fumble. Evans performance earned him CFL all-star honours. He was part of a secondary that was the toughest to pass against league-wide in 2017.

Evans has played three seasons with the Stampeders emerging in 2016 as a starter with 42 tackles, 14 knockdowns and two interceptions.

After going undrafted in the NFL, the five-foot-11, 195-pound cover man attended Bears rookie mini-camp in 2014 but he was not offered a contract.

The University Nebraska product played four seasons from 2010-2013 for the Cornhuskers. He suited up in 47 games making 33 starts, accumulating 143 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, five sacks and five interceptions.
