Gary Crowton is well known by Bombers followers, but he’s popped up in Montreal.

The former Winnipeg offensive coordinator is meeting with Kavis Reed on Wednesday.

Crowton was with the Bombers for one season, the team went 6-12 in 2012, and part of another. He was fired in mid-August 2013 by then-head coach Tim Burke.

“Our offence has not played up to their standards and we need to make this change in order to give us a chance at remaining in the hunt for the post season. I wish Gary all the best in his future endeavours,” Burke said about letting Crowton go.

The other pro coaching position Crowton has held was in Chicago where he was the Bears offensive coordinator in 1999 and 2000.

Currently he’s the offensive coordinator at Stephen F. Austin State University.
