I believe he will have a good shot at making an NFL roster. He knows it may be his last. He is talented and grew up a lot. He is very personable and every game, home and away he stops by after ore game warmup to say hi to fans from all teams and poses for photos when they ask. No other player does this every game. He’s jogging by them back to the locker room anyway. If he comes back to the CFL, no doubt he gives the Riders first shot. If for some reason he ends up on a haters team, they will change their view in a hurry.

I doubt that Trestman would want the head case that Carter is. Trestman is far more discerning than Jones is. Trestman and Popp will find good players without taking on the likes of Carter.

In reply to Provemewrong. It amazes me how little you and donkey know. If carter comes back to the cfl, he will sign with a smaller market team like sask or winnipeg or hamilton. Why you ask? Because deron has a big ego and he loves the attention he gets as a professional football player. He will be lost in the crowd in toronto or vancouver, but in a small market he gets recognized often. Why do you think he took all those rider fans to a movie in toronto? He loves being famous, signing autographs, talking to fans, it motivates him.

I would bet any money that should Carter return to the CFL he ends up back in Regina. It appears from the outside looking in the DC had a lot of fun playing for the Riders last year….

Carter is and will always be a liability to a NFL team. He is one step away from embarrassment and that is one step too close for the NFL. He will try out the NFL prospects, but he will end up back in the CFL. Likely Toronto where a big city town will attract him and Tresman can curb him

In reply to Ghostrider. hmmm, well, most pro teams in various leagues assess what support their talent needs. Granted Carter is a very high maintance guy , but in regard to his cfl career , coach Jones seems tom have come up with a plan that worked wellfor both the riders and carter. hmmmmm many NFL superstars had pretty much full time baby sitters, in realy some worked ( in fact Chris Carter was one that worked out /// yes durons dad was /is an ass .) others didn't re Greg Hardy for example. it comes down to organization decsions and resources regarding how far they will go based on the payer they are dealing with .
