Joe, I agree, there are too many coaches in football. The NFL and NCAA are even worse. They’ll have Inside linebackers and Outside Linebackers coaches, as well as Tight End coaches! What’s next? Long snapper Coach??
The CFL teams budgets are actually about double the mere $5.2 million cap that we hear about, if you include the salaries of all the coaches, G.M., assorted executives and the players on the 6-game injured reserve list throughout the season, who don’t count against the cap.

In reply to Boneyard. In 2014 the Riders gave Chamblin and Taman new 4 year contracts. The loss you speak of for the Riders 2015 season. Was a way in which the Riders business side decided to work out a dual payout scheme and show the financial hit right up front. Claiming the payout of the fired GM and fired Head Coach who both incidentally had 2.5 years left on their contracts. It was a terrible financial loss but necessary move. So the financial loss the Riders showed was not due to normal overhead costs of the amount of coaching the Riders have. In fact the Riders have no more Coaching than any other team. The difference is Jones carry’s the title of GM but has 2 very talented assistants that could be GMs themselves in this league b But good try on slandering the CFLs top business model that every and all other clubs are looking to learn from. Truly your just drooling a foul stench out of your sphincter and spreading BS all over the place.

In reply to Quint. Quint, I thought of that too, why is the O doing Ok under Travis and not JJ. PART of the problem was JJ. Part, too, was the O-line. But I think Play selection was a huge problem. Travis had enough experience that he could overcome some problems but they git Chris Williams and never did use him properly. Honestly, No disrespect to the man but I am not surprised by the move. At Camp, there was talk of an explosive Offence, maybe JJ hitting 6000 yards passing etc. etc. Never even came close to any of that. We have a lot of talent on that team and they GROSSLY underachieved this year.

I thought Condell was a good OC but I don’t know guys like I know Lions.
Worst part about Washington n going to Montreal is that I do not want a whole bunch of our D following him. If he goes, I hope he does well. Not sure if he is bi-lingual but I would have expected a bi-lingual guy to get the job.

Jones gets a bit of a bad rap. When Lulay was at the controls this year, the offense was humming. For those four games, they were averaging about 480 yards of offense. The issue was bad quarterbacking from Jennings all year. Hard to call a good game when you can’t trust your QB.
