CFL Lover, you make no sense, get with the program. I don’t even watch the NFL! I want like any other realistic intelligent CFL fan wants, to see the CFL survive and grow as a real professional 3 down football league. And we all logically want to see only the best Canadian players, who are actually good enough and who actually want to play in the CFL and not the NFL, play in the CFL. But not because of a guaranteed Canadian starting and huge unrealistic Can roster ratio that automatically hands them their CFL positions, only because of their passport. This is ludicrous! Make them like the Americans, have actually make a CFL team. Shouldn’t be any problem right, if they are all as good as you say they are!

I guess ole Ed / El Marco / Marko – whoever he is – has it in for Canadian born players, Hey fella go watch all those other far superior leagues and stop torturing yourself. One more tidbit for you, the Commish is in talks with NFL Networks to broaden the reach of the CFL in the US, not reduce it’s exposure, seems like someone down there doesn’t mind all that Canadian content. Knock yourself out !

Sorry, meant to type…he went…and forgot to mention as well, the terribly over-rated and grossly overpaid guaranteed starting Canadian O-Linemen, who absolutely brutal in the CFL and can’t protect star CFL QB’s. Which has become a real safety issue in the CFL resulting in serious injuries to CFL QB’s and more and more boring two and outs! And who’s running the CFL? The Canadian players and their basically Canadian player’s association made up of carefully selected Canadian O-Linemen, or the CFL and their fans that are realistic and want to see the CFL survive and grow as a real professional 3 down football league. Who allows the best available and most talented players start and play at every position for entire CFL game in the CFL, so CFL 3 down football can be played at its highest level with the best available players.

Too bias and not one bit credible, the Canadian starter ratio is obviously not selling CFL 3 down football because it clearly doesn’t work in today’s highly competitive professional sports leagues, period! CFL 3 down football is dying in MTL, Toronto and in Vancouver and MSL soccer in those markets don’t have an old school ridiculous guaranteed Can starting ratio, and if they did no one would go and they would fold! The CFL may lose 2 or 3 percent of their old school bias fans, if the CFL wisely abolished the dictating, handcuffing Can starting ratio, but they would gain 10 times more fans because like every other professional sports league, their fans only want to watch the best available players play in their professional sports leagues. And B. Bridge wants to make a Can QB part of the 7 starting Can ratio, what a joke? He’s a hypocrite just like Demski because both of them are going to NFL camps and trying to get in the NFL. And how many decent Canadian players are in the CFL? Foley is also a hypocrite because he when to the NFL too, so he’s no one to talk about the Can ratio! If the CFL has any chance to grow their 3 down game and fan base that is dying, they need to be able to recruit the best available players to start and play at every position for entire CFL game like the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, and yes MLS soccer can, or the CFL will die!

In reply to El Marco. Go sit in the stadium at TD Place in Ottawa when the Redblacks are playing and tell me how many "old people" you count among the habitual 24,000 + fans in attendance. If you had any live experience actually visiting CFL stadiums these days you wouldn't be quoting erroneous opinions put forth by certain Toronto media types who's only agenda is to denigrate the league. As for TFC spare me those snowflakey prima donna divers flopping all over the field at the least little provocation. Sorry pal can't stomach it.

In reply to CFL lover. I said attendance not TV. I am looking ahead to millenials who crowd MLS games. Old people watch on TV. Youth go out. Give me the reasons why CFL attendance down. Millennials not nation centric prefer best talent not favoritism. Ratios dumb down talent. TFC hires best talent thus youth flock to games.

Educate yourself on the viewing patterns of Canadians when it comes to which league they tune into for their sport fix. The Canadian Football league crushes MLS every single time. Football obliterates soccer Marko, or are you too busy enjoying your half-baked theories to notice ? – The Argos home attendance issues are caused by many other factors that date back years, nothing to do with import/non-import ratios.
