Ticats defensive back Richard Leonard is a little salty about not making the CFL’s all-star team.
The league released the list of names Tuesday morning and Leonard, who was named to the East Division squad, lost out to Calgary’s Ciante Evans and Winnipeg’s Chris Randle.

Leonard, 26, started 18 games at both cornerback and halfback for the Tiger-Cats in his rookie CFL season in 2017. He tied for the CFL lead in pass knockdowns (13) and fumble recoveries (3), was second in interceptions (7) and 11th overall in defensive tackles (72). He also returned one of his fumble recoveries 84 yards for a touchdown after a blocked kick in Week 1 against Toronto.
Meanwhile, Randle played in all 18 games, accumulating five interceptions, 60 defensive tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and two defensive touchdowns while Evans was named for the second straight season after starting 17 games and registering five interceptions, 53 tackles, one forced fumble and six knockdowns. Evans was part of a Stamps secondary and defensive unit that allowed a league-low 254.6 passing yards per game this season.
