Now that the Cats have signed June Jones, is there still a role for Kent Austin in the organization. Tillman appears to be the General Manager and player recruiter, something whether or not one likes him, he is good at through his many contacts in the U.S. Jones has the Coaching portfolio, there are scouts in place for both the Canadian schools and the U.S. schools so where does that leave KA. Interesting to see how the rest of the off season plays out.

Steinauer was brutal. Over the course of a season a defence may post acceptable stats. However, a great DC makes great calls on those incredibly key defensive plays that come up only a few times a season. Steinauer was always brutal at those times. He would NEVER bring pressure with games on the line. So many 3rd and very longs with no pressure allowing the QB loads of time and allowing the receivers to work downfield. I despised him fit this and was glad when he left. The other team’s offences knew what he would do too in those circumstances as he did it every single time.

Tedford was paid $2.3 million a year over three years to *not* coach the California Golden Bears.

Somehow, I suspect that for the Fresno salary – the time in Tampa and BC and/or being released/fired has basically no relevance compared to his ten years as a HC at the college level.

In reply to patlynch. Well, you can pay to see your solid football minds in action ... not me, not one penny until KA is punted. I foresaw what was coming in 2016 and stopped being a season ticket holder after the 2015 season. But experts like yourself can keep holding onto history because there likely won't be much to look forward to until there are some 'real solid football minds' in the team box.

I feel Jeff got pushed under the bus and ran over several times before his body was a Corps’ Wally is a idiot firing Jeff here. If only Wally gave Jeff full control I believe we would of been in the western final with him as HC and was able to get who he wanted and let go who wouldn’t fit in his staff but Wally interference made things worse and I can see the same thing with Ed being our GM. Wally is still the boss and stubborn and will be a control freak.

How in the hell did the Cats let this guy escape,should have dumped Austin after playoff loss at home to Esks in 2016 and promoted Steinauer to HC!

In reply to Paul Garner. I’m not sure they would’ve even had a chance to keep Orlondo. He’s an alumni there. And sometimes getting the call from “home” is just too great. We have to remember these guys are American first and foremost. And to be part of your alma mater is sometimes too big of an opportunity to turn down.
