Ottawa has thrown a great Grey Cup party and one team can cap the week off in celebratory fashion.
Calgary Stampeders (14-4-1) vs. Toronto Argonauts (10-9)
Sunday, November 26, 6:30 p.m. EST
Jame Wilder Jr. was a special teams player for Toronto in both regular season games against Calgary. Since earning the starting running back role, the Argos have been a vastly different team going 6-1 in games Wilder Jr. has been the main ball carrier. The CFL’s Most Oustanding Rookie changed the offensive approach for Marc Trestman.
Wilder Jr. has been a key part of Toronto’s late-season surge and run to the Grey Cup. Calgary lost three straight games to end the regular schedule, but bounced back from a week off and overcame a 14-point deficit against a red hot Edmonton squad.
The Stampeders are nearly as healthy as possible, save for Bo Levi Mitchell’s shoulder. Jerome Messam and Roy Finch providing a one-two punch in the backfield is a potential game-changer. That pair was used more in tandem during the West Final and it worked very well. Finch provides explosive play ability so Toronto needs to lock him down.
Corey Chamblin’s defensive front needs to shutdown Finch and not let him burst through the first level or be in space out of the backfield. The Argos pass rush should be able to disrupt Mitchell and that could be the game-changing factor.
