"Municipal staff pegged the cost of a stadium at $60 million"

Seriously??? Perhaps if the materials are donated and labour is voluntary.

The construction costs for Tim Horton Field was $146 million, Investors Group Field was $210 million and Mosaic Stadium was $278 million.

Until the Irvings, McCains, Sobeys and several other substantive corps get behind the idea, there won't be much energy from across the Maritimes. I attended all three Moncton games when living in PEI. Initially great support. UT last game didn't sellout and the attitude in many sports bars was surprisingly apathetic. Summer is baseball and the Red Sox. Autumn is college ball. There needs to be Maritime-wide interest, just like Saskatchewan where season ticket holders come each weekend from as far away as Meadow Lake, Swift Current, Yorkton, etc. Because there's only 10 games a year it can work in terms of season tix cost...and with good scheduling college ball, soccer and concerts (and even track/field) also fits. But let's see if NB and PEI and people from Cape Breton also are into this idea. Another positive is the super high speed highway that links Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton to Halifax and the relatively good networks around greater Halifax... good luck Schooners who always throw a good "kitchen party" at Grey Cup!!

Wrong with data as usual. Trying to slang Regina.
Halifax
The city’s real GDP growth of 1.4% in 2017 will trail that of other major Canadian metropolitan areas because of a contraction in primary and utilities output, due largely to a maturing offshore natural gas sector.
Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina
Winnipeg and Saskatoon can expect to see economic growth of 3.6% each this year, while Regina’s real GDP is forecast to rise 2.9% in 2017, finds the report.

Not sure you're referring to the same game I attended there but three years ago the Als faced the Redblacks at PEP stadium where the Rouge & Or play (Laval U) the building was almost full and the fans were totally into it. The game itself was spotty given that it was more of a scrimmage being a pre-season deal but I would hardly call it a massive failure, more like a surprising success since no Quebec City team was on that field. And remember - Preseason = exhibition
