Edmonton linebacker J.C. Sherritt was back on a football field for the first time since June.

Sheritt was hurt early in the second quarter of the Eskimos’ Week 1 win over B.C., pulling up in the middle of the field despite being untouched. He was carried from the turf at B.C. Place, then taken to the dressing room in a cart after getting some encouraging words from head coach Jason Maas. His reaction said it all.
The 29-year-old was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2012 and won a Grey Cup with the team in 2015. His possible return could be a boost to the Eskimos in the West Final and Grey Cup.
