Johnny Manziel sporting non-football Dad bod in recent photos

Johnny Manziel does not appear to be in the best shape at the moment.

Photos emerged on Tuesday of the former Texas A&M star and Cleveland Browns quarterback vacationing with his fiancee Bre Tiesi in Hawaii earlier this week and Manziel has a noticeable paunch in a couple of them.

Manziel has talked repeatedly about wanting to make a football comeback.

In August, he worked out for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who own his CFL rights. Then in September, he triggered a clause that forced the Ticats to offer him a contract within 10 days. After CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie met with Manziel as part of the league’s domestic violence prevention program – a dismissal agreement was reached following an incident in which he accused of hitting and threatening former girlfriend Colleen Crowley in January 2016 – conditions were established by which Manziel could enter the league next season.

The CFL has also extended the window by which the Ticats had to offer Manziel a deal to Nov. 30.

All of which means that Manziel could very well be at a CFL training camp by next spring. And while that’s six months away – and not every CFL player has the body of an Adonis – the photos will likely lead to some questioning of just how committed Manziel is to a life in professional football.
