Roughriders forced to relocate fan seating due to falling snow

The Saskatchewan Roughriders were forced to relocate fans from approximately 300 seats behind the visitors’ bench due to falling snow from the roof of New Mosaic Stadium on Saturday evening.

How one spends $278 million on a new stadium without taking into account something as a predictable as snow in Regina is unconscionable. Saturday’s contest is the first CFL game in the history of New Mosaic to be played in snow, so it remains to be seen whether or not this will be a recurring issue.

In any case, it’s a bad look for a facility that has received rave reviews all season long. Snow in Regina is as predictable as rain in Vancouver — paying customers should be able to enjoy their (expensive) seats without fear of being buried in snow.

Falling snow wasn’t the only complaint launched against New Mosaic Stadium on Saturday. Eskimo centre Justin Sorensen took to twitter to voice his displeasure with the lack of amenities in the visitors’ locker room at New Mosaic, Edmonton’s first game at the new facility.

We think he may have a point.
