As a Rider fan I’m with Stage. I also hope we see a whack of Argo fans and Rider fans in amongst them. As long as the Canadian Media CENTER shows games with no support from Torontonians. Then what’s the sense in keeping a team there. It is not helping the league in anyway. In fact it is doing the opposite. There comes a time when we need to give up instead of blindly and stupidly soldiering on.

Why do we have to comment on what other Calgary fans are doing or not doing, RobE? I go to the games, most of the other Stamps fans that comment in here go to the games. It’s kind of odd that you’d call us out because other random people in this city don’t come to the games. It’s pretty clear just from the whole arena debate that the Stampeders aren’t the top priority for a lot of Calgarians in this city. Sure it sucks, but it certainly isn’t our fault.

Regardless, the Stampeders are a profitable team, the games are fun to go to, and the on-field product is top-notch. I can’t say we fans that do show up have much to complain about.

Who knows? I guess we’ll have to cross that bridge if and when we ever get to it, won’t we? Neither of the above has happened since I moved to this city, so I honestly don’t have an answer for you. I guess if the team started slumping, those billionaire owners could finally pony up for a nice new city so that they can deflect from their poor on-field performance. Seems to have worked for other teams.

Hey, why not Duron? He’s got no qualms with hitting up the Twittersphere and calling out stuff about the league he doesn’t like. He already said he doesn’t mind getting fined – he’d be the perfect mouthpiece.

It’s the same old tired schtick from Gopherville, Southwest. Any Eskimo on the roster from Jones 2 years in Edmonton he discovered AND they all love him to death. Any Stamp of value was discovered by Murphy while there. Fact is few Eskimo players are around who came to the team in those 2 years. Most pre-date Jones or have come since he left. The few that were “discovered” in 2014 & 2015, notably Walker is one often mentioned, don’t go to Jones in free agency but back to the Esks. It’s hard to believe that Walker, a receiver like Hervey, was discovered by Jones. As can be seen by current receivers post-Jones like Williams, Zylstra, Mitchell, they came since Jones left. Hervey has a good eye for talent & he knows what a good receiver looks like. It’s complete nonsense that a former coach gets the credit. I’m sure Huf & Hervey did not need anyone to go out & find talent for them. But the Rider crowd likes to believe everything Jones touches is gold. Jones Saskatchewan tenure so far has been noted (QB being an extreme example of this) by picking up anyone he can get his hands on including a # of NFL retreads which, UNTIL Richardson proves otherwise, is exactly what he is right now. He runs them all through a sifter, sometimes releasing them before they’ve even hit the field, & decides who to take a chance on. When, by his own admission, he has auditioned thousands in his camps, ran busloads of players through last year, even sticking them away in hotels here & there, you’d BETTER be able to get some players for all that dough spent. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile as they say. But how many players have come & gone that weren’t good enough. More than any other CFL club I’d venture to say. Where are the Daniels, Zylstras, Williams, Mitchell, Jorden & Michel. Riders have Holley as a “discovery”. Maybe A. Grant sometime in the future. Esks & Stamps have done quite well without their services.
