Mixed feelings about quota. Perhaps its not the absolute # of Canadians but the CFLPA/CFL language requiring the defined # of Canadians on the field at all times forcing Americans (Internationals- who is kidding whom?) to sit and be paid.

Re comparison to MLS, its not just about Americans but here is a true international game; Canadians are truly at a disadvantage trying to make a career in Pro Soccer. What is our National team (80th or so global ranking).

Expansion is a pipe dream, save possibly Halifax. Despite the success of the Laval football program, there is a big difference between 15000 or so fans at $25 a ticket compared to a bare minimum of 20000+ fans with the corporate sponsorship needed @100 a ticket; oh did I mention income-generating stadium?

In reply to Ticat Mike. Missing point. Morrison prepares QB's for success in the run and shoot. Hamilton has Run and shoot not and doing pretty well with it. Did Chang and Brennan play in a run and shoot? Probably not.

The one thing that comes up a lot on this board is that good Canadian players and coaches are hard to find. But why? Pure numbers. 300 Million Americans and Canada has about the same pop as California alone. Training. NCAA gets far superior training to CIS. Look at Air Canada. He trained in the Sun Belt conference and at the Manning camps. Has done quite well. Ratios and Quotas do what they do everywhere. They raise price for less quality and stifle the need to improve. NBA has no quotas yet now the NBA is flooding with young Canadaian talent. why? They are moving to US prep schools and getting NCAA scholarships while competing against not only Americans but Slovenians, Serbs, and others. The Ratio is too high. The MLS had one at the start in 1996 and it was 4 Americans. That is gone now but that should be the CFL goal. CFL also needs to expand away from MLS cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal where MLS is killing them. Keep those but expand to Halifax, Quebec City, Kitchner-Waterloo-London Triangle, Windsor, and Victoria. Each new city should drop the quota by one. So 6 for Halifax, 5 for QC, 4 for Victoria then hold there. These new Franchises will need players and it is already tough enough to fill the 7 Canadian rule.

In reply to Johnny Fever. Not a chance that this is the end for SP or that Jones is returning in 2018. Jones has said that Stef is invaluable in helping to translate his plays into language that the players already know. Morrison is here to help implement Jones offensive system and to work with the QBs - a position formerly held by Austin. SP no doubt is going to continue coaching the receivers as he has since he arrived.

SO much for interim Head Coach or for that matter due diligence? Typical Tiger Cats you would not want to wait and see how these 10 games play out for June Jones yes he is 3 and 2 and the losses where close but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades,say the Cats go 0 and 5 down the stretch would you not want to consider other candidates.(LaPolice,Steinauer,Condell)After all Jones was sitting in Hawaii semi retired.The Cats will never be a Elite Franchise when they keep cutting corners.

This is the beginning of the end for Stefan Ptaszek. Not big deal, most CIS coaches are completely overwhelmed in the CFL. This hiring clearly suggest that June Jones will be back next season.
