See Lancaster, you can’t simply Draw parallels between what Calgary does and what Sask does to try to make a point. Calgary simply had better younger/better players ready to go in the pipeline. Sask does it because they need to dump unmanageable salary commitments or because Jones sees a platinum name.

Actually, Lewis is going to be a game-day decision today and he’s on the 46-man roster. Lewis stated yesterday that he feels good and will be working out with Reed today to try to prove that. We’ll know an hour before game time whether he’s playing or benched.

Nik wanted to continue to play slot back, and Hufnagel already had Rogers, McDaniel, Fuller, and Sinopoli on the roster. He offered Lewis to play another position (at a lower salary, obviously), and Lewis felt he still had some gas in the tank (he was right, to a point).

Not sure why some of you fans feel that Hufnagel did anything disrespectful to Nik or treated him poorly at all. Nik doesn’t feel disrespected at all – he still continues to be a fixture in Calgary and has already made a deal with the Stampeders to sign a one-day contract and retire in the red-and-white when the time comes. He will be visiting the Nik Lewis Nation tailgate party this afternoon before the game – just as he has every game for the last 10+ years.

I suspect he’ll if this is his last season that he’ll be a coach somewhere in the CFL as given his personality and character he can relate to younger players and veterans alike.
