Drew Willy is set to start for the Alouettes on Friday in Calgary, according to Montreal Gazette reporter Herb Zurkowsky.
“The injury perpetuated this change,” Reed said. “Drew’s a very capable backup who has won in this league. He’s not afraid to make decisions and he’s very smart with the ball. In the few minutes he has played, he’s shown he can move the team. We’re pretty confident in his abilities,” general manager Kavis Reed told Zurkowsky.
“He’s someone who takes care of the football and makes smart decisions and pushes the ball downfield. We want to see him make a decision and not be afraid to pull the trigger.”

Durant will sit out with an injured hamstring. Two straight games Durant has been either a hot mess or struggled. He’s thrown for 3,015 yards completing 67 per cent of his passes and he’s already matched his touchdown pass total from a season ago with 14. Although, the 35-year-old is tied for the league lead with 14 interceptions.
Willy has seen significant action in two of Montreal’s last three games after Durant was benched. He completed 8-of-11 passes for 98 yards and 12-of-17 balls for 83 yards in Weeks 11 and 13, both versus Ottawa. It will be Willy’s first start with Montreal.
