Decision to pull Kevin Glenn not injury based: Jones

Saskatchewan Roughrider quarterback Kevin Glenn was pulled from Sunday’s 15-9 loss to the Calgary Stampeders at the behest of coach Chris Jones – not because of injury.

Glenn was pulled early in the fourth quarter after going 12 for 19 for just 127 yards and a touchdown and with the Riders trailing 12-2. He appeared to be favouring his throwing hand – the same one that forced him to miss the win over Hamilton on Sept. 15 – on a number of occasions.

Jones said the decision to insert Canadian pivot Brandon Bridge, who went six-for-seven for 91 yards and a touchdown, was more about Saskatchewan’s inability to protect Glenn than it was about his performance. The Riders surrendered five sacks and were credited with four QB pressures.

The Riders travel to Ottawa to take on the Redblacks next Friday.
