Ottawa Redblacks

Redblacks QB Drew Tate week-to-week, likely won’t play Friday

Ottawa quarterback Drew Tate took a heckuva shot from Alouettes defensive back Dondre Wright on Sunday and it could see him miss one game and possibly more.

The 32-year-old left the game immediately and did not return.

Postmedia’s Tim Baines provided an update on Tate’s status Monday.

Tate was filling in for Ottawa’s No. 1 pivot Trevor Harris who is on the six-game injured list after suffering a second-degree shoulder sprain in Week 12.

Third-string signal caller Ryan Lindley played after Tate went down going 7-of-14 for 76 yards with one interception. And as Baines reports, Lindley would start, which would mark the first of his CFL career, Friday against Winnipeg if Tate cannot go.
