Johnny did not hit anyone. The Dallas DA is sitting on a video tape from a Hotel showing Crowley hitting Manziel not the other way around. The deal was a face saving for Dallas criminal justice system and way to avoid a circus like OJ trial for Manziel that would just result in an Acquittal anyway.

Manziel is not in it for the money. His trust fund is already more than the non guaranteed contract of the highest paid NFL player. He wants to play football because he likes it. No different from him playing golf which he is very good at and could make the PGA tour with time and good training. in fact he wants the league minimum offer so he can just play what is left of this season and all of next and try to re-enter the NFL in 2019 when he will still just be 26.

There is no doubt that Austin and Company are looking for a new home for Collaros. Then and only then will they make an offer to Manziell. The unfortunate thing is I doubt that anyone is willing to take on the contract of the highest paid player in the league. At $550K plus contractual stipulations that would make your head spin. I just don’t see any Teams taking on that financial drain plus give up something in the trade for that contract. I see Collaros playing out his contract in Hamilton. Even if Austin releases Collaros he still has to pay him the remainder of his contract. So why not just keep him until there’s a couple Months left on his contract. Then get a draft pick of some kind for him. Kinda like what went on between Chris Jones and Kavis Reed for Darian Durant. Kavis Reed the rookie GM was the only Dufus that was willing to give guaranteed money to a QB that was not playing at a high level and had only dressed for 40% of the previous 3 seasons.
All the junk food Kavis Reed filled the Montreal Media with leading up to the 2017 Season. Only to fire HC, OC & assistant HC, DC. and then give another raw, raw we are moving towards a better place. We owe it to the fan base to be better than Ok… New flash Mr Consequences Reed. The ALS were not just OK. They are terrible and you putting all your eggs in the Darian Durant , 3 year, 1.2 Million $ basket will cost you your job. Your 13th Man fiasco in SK. Combined with your failure as a HC in Edmonton was 2 strikes. Now with the gutting of the ALS. Including one of the best DC’s in the league. Can only get worse and strike 3. All of that controversy has been a blessing to the TigerCats during their disastrous season of 2017. If Montreal hadn’t had the Kavis Reed Circus. Hamilton under Austin would have been much more of a media circus than they are now. Both teams are in a rut. I for one can hardly wait for Darian to feel what it’s like to play at Mosaic on the other side of the ball. Fans will applaud him before the game. Then the minute the whistle blows and he lines up on the other side. He becomes the opposition and the crowd will get their freak on and become extremely loud. Not because of any disdain for Darian Durant. Only because of the emotions leading up to the game itself. Best way to describe those emotions? Kinda like having a huge disagreement with your lady. Only to make up and then the 2 of you really get your freak on.
Oh ya, sorry for rambling… The 3 teams interested in Johnny Football are Toronto, Montreal and SK. Plus any person not agreeing with the league in having Manziell meet with Randy Ambrosie really don’t have an idea how critical it is that we as a society both attack and change society’s idea on Violence towards women. Only cowardly men don’t accept everything and anything about bringing this issue to the forefront and dealing with it head on. As a kindergarten aged child. I witnessed the ugliness of the issue 1st hand. If Johnny is in the spotlight due to his fame and his actions. Then this is a perfect platform to bring awareness to a very ugly part of humanity.
If only the punishment for men who carry out violence against women and or children were put in a house with an angry man who was much bigger, twice as strong and had serious anger issues. Plus make it so the original perpetrator had no way to get way. I bet some attitudes would be changed in a hurry.
My last paragraph was written by a very nice lady who also witnessed violence at an early age and wanted to weigh in on the subject.
Here’s hoping “all” the CFL distractions are over and we can have an excellent remainder of the season.

Nothing wrong with Sam as a person as far as I could tell, but as a football player he was brutal. If I recall correctly, he managed zero tackles in his entire short career with Montreal, which would have meant a quiet, unceremonious departure from the team. In Sam’s case, it was meant with a clown show of media interview after media interview. All because of very non-football-related stuff.

And then to top it off, Sam decided to shit on the one league that gave him his chance.
