Edmonton defensive back Mercy Maston sustained an Achilles tendon rupture in warmups before the Eskimos took on Calgary on Saturday night.
He’s done for the season. The rookie defensive back had started seven games for Edmonton in the secondary. It’s another unfortunate blow for the Eskimos who have been riddled with injuries all year long.
Edmonton had already assigned their scratches for the game which means they’re playing with one less player than normal.
