Three CFL teams vying for DL Alex Bazzie, Riders among them

Defensive end Alex Bazzie has three teams interested in his services, per sources.

B.C., Saskatchewan, and one potential mystery squad are all vying for the 27-year-old pass rusher.

Bazzie bounced from the Colts to the Panthers and then signed with the Arizona Cardinals where he attended training camp with the team, but he was released among the final roster cuts. He’s a free agent on both sides of the border and seems to have shifted his focus to the CFL.

Bazzie notched a career-high 11 sacks and 31 tackles to go with a forced fumble in 2016 for BC and he was named a West Division all-star. He’s posted 29 sacks in 50 career CFL games, all with the Lions. The six-foot-one, 228-pound Marshall product has found a way to consistently rush and disrupt the quarterback in the CFL.
