He recorded a 1,092-yard season with 16 touchdowns at the University of Tennesse at Martin as a senior but he went undrafted in the 2013 NFL draft. The Tucson, Arizona native signed a free agent deal with New England, but he only lasted one week on the team’s practice roster that September and was released.
Sims had stints with the Orlando Predators, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Arizona Rattlers. When he landed with the Cleveland Gladiators in 2016 that’s when his career took off, recording 1,112 receiving yards on 92 catches and 27 touchdowns.
Then followed that up with 79 receptions for 1,071 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2017.
