I stopped watching boxing because of the brain damage boxing causes. I should probably stop supporting the CFL for the same reason.

hi; i played in the cfl for 5 seasons; i am 60 now and over here in scotland had a MRI done which showed “subcortical white matter intensities ” my memory is non existent and I function the best I can.
I know it was the concussions that brought me to this state of mind;

Unfortunately, it is bitter truth that a retired footballer brain is like a patient of a comma. I think after this assumption every player of football should rapidly perform a MRI checkup. For the reason that this scanning system is much reliable and flawless as compare to CT scan and X-ray examination. Moreover Magnetic Resonance Image advancement is not risky for the patients.

Hopefully medical science will soon find some relief for you and others suffering. I know the military has made some strides given the nature of the casualties from the ME….unfortunately a heavy price is being paid by those at the front end of this emerging issue. Let’s be sure to put the knowledge we are gaining to good use. Props to those families that are donating to research and such…I imagine that can’t be easy but may be the best hope to better understanding.

RFD, one would have to read the study itself to determine whether the methodology is legitimate. Any time one reads an article about a study a grain of salt is necessary. The study was double-blinded, that’s what they said, and that is the most important part of proper study methodology, however we’d have to actually read the study to know.
