After remaining silent during a day of controversy surrounding the hiring of disgraced former Baylor coach Art Briles, Hamilton Tiger-Cats owner Bob Young issued a Tweet late Monday night crediting CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie for saving the Ticats from a “major blunder.”

Young’s Twitter account had been inundated with criticism for much of the day Monday after the club announced it was hiring Briles as assistant head coach in charge of offence. Team CEO Scott Mitchell initially defended the move but the team and the league issued a statement late Monday reversing the decision.
