I think it’s important to remember that most players do not have these issues. The reason why these studies have shown such high percentages is that these are the people who were showing signs of trouble. Only recently people like Evraire have been choosing to donate their brains because the issue has become much more high profile, and God willing he won’t be donating his for quite some time yet. I’m not saying this to diminish the seriousness of the fact that many people clearly have had serious problems, but rather to properly frame the problem. Why do some people get CTE and others don’t? Why do some players end up like Randy Ambrosie, and others like Junior Seau? If we can understand the reasons why then we can take steps to make sure that almost everyone ends up like Randy Ambrosie.

When men were men! I hope the future works out for all these guys. Life is a risk....some deal with it head on literally......while others hide under the couch.....same as it ever was.
Good on him for trying to help by donating......I am hopeful that somehow equipment, technique and rules can find the right safety mix or this may ultimately stunt the sports growth......if youth participation drys up.....that wave will ripple through on many l vela.
