Im left scratching my head with the title A
and the first sentence in the article.
Ambrosie lived in Manitoba while he went to College. He also played for Calgary. So I’m thinking he had a pretty good idea what it was like to live on the Prairies. Also I believe I read or saw it on TV that Ambrosie himself is somewhat of a Country boy.
Steven you need to wake up a bit my friend. I know 2 dozen farmers personally plus my Sister and Brother in law being farmers. Not one of the 13 Farms I mentioned are owned by the bank. There is still a fair amount of old Money in the SK farming community.
Im also aware of farms inherited by City Slickers who were family members. Many of them rent the land out to grain farmers.
I really feel for those who do owe money for their farm land. It seems along with Electronics, Oil and Potash. Farming is also an industry where the price of their product can suffer from year to year. A bushel of wheat can drop in price. Right now I think they get the same amount for a bushel as they did back in the 80’s.

Well most of the banks (the real owners of those farms) are all in Toronto so there are snooty attitudes and the ability to end the farm with a stroke of a pen
