Tramps choked. Period . That’s Wallys legacy. And apparently Dickenson was his star pupil. Of all the years Wally had great teams in both Cowtown and BC his teams crumbled under pressure. Hell of a regular season coach but a lot of his teams fell face first in the playoffs. And tramps fans accept this as success, well I for one hope that you have all of the success in the world. Lol. GO ESKS GO.

Well, really they are supposed to be a prediction of what the upcoming games are going to be like, though it seems like most places don’t really analyze opponents or team injuries enough when compiling them. So in a practical sense you are correct.

I would say that, given the injuries the Esks now sustained, they should have probably fallen in the power rankings. Especially since one of those injuries is to the highest-scoring player on any team (the place-kicker – and in the Esks case, the league’s best place-kicker). However, they are playing a heavily deflated Hamilton team this week, which, by all accounts, should mean an easy two points, so that should balance some of the analysis out a bit.

Calgary, by contrast, now has a bye week, and then some pretty hard opponents coming up. Until we get through those games, I can’t see us ascending the power rankings. Especially if we, too, keep losing players like we have been. Thus, keeping the status quo (EDM=1, CGY=2) really makes the most sense.

Well, hopefully that won’t be the case now, but the way it was reported on TSN, it sounds like that was directly from the mouth of the Argos’ coaches.

Stamps will clearly finish in the top 3 in the west. Probably top 2. We will have a playoff run and home playoff game probably. How do rider fans feel about there playoff changes right now?
The point is Calgary has hope, anticipation and the excitement of having a great and getting better team that has outscored their opponents 128-35 in the last 3. Riders hope is fading fast.
It’s easy to look back during the long winter days of Januray and February and say “who cares you didn’t win the cup so whats the difference between being 15-2-1 and 5-13?”. The difference is the right now 🙂

If you were playing pro ball, would you go for more money on another team or take the same pay again just to be on a GREY CUP contender which includes playoff money etc? Dennis made the Stamps look good and the Stamps made Dennis look good. What does Dennis look like now playing on a marginal contender for his NFL chances?

The Stamps season started with 6 starters on the 6 game IL from the previous season.
Huff mantra is to cover your ass with both hands starting with the off season. His son is the USA college and NFL scout. He has his ducks in a row.

So, what would you prefer? 9 home games where you watched your team win every one and were sent home happy, an exciting season that went right down to the wire for the best record EVER, and a shot at Grey Cup glory, or 5-13, disappointment on almost every night, home or away? Yeah, losing the GC last year sucked, but that doesn’t wipe away all the good that happened for Stamps fans.

Stampland, I’m not disagreeing with you one bit. Stamps WERE the best team last year. I’d defend that to anyone. It’s a shame that the good season is lost in the fact they lost the one game that counts in people’s mind. I follow the Riders but am not a fan of the current regime. But to bring up the Esks once more, when was the last time the 16-2 team was mentioned? When the Stamps were chasing that mark. Otherwise that great season is pretty much forgotten. And that’s the real sad thing about losing the Cup last year. Outside of a few who care about those things that season is lost. I don’t consider the Stamps chokers at all. Who choked when the Bombers were up with 15 seconds left & Stamps on their own 29? Who choked when BC was up by 2 scores with minutes left? Who choked in a tie game with zeroes on the clock in Edmonton & Whyte out to kick the winning field goal? Those were all wins by Calgary. So yeah, Ottawa on the day had a hot Burris & Mitchell had a rare off day & the Stamps still almost pulled it out.
