Who did Tennessee p*ss off to get such a crappy schedule In Canada we can blame TSN for ours with their insistence on mid week games and not wanting to go head to head with the Jays

CFL has 4 hour work days so , although not the same, relatable to what the Vols staff needs to deal with in terms of class/academic time. Any way you look at this, it is too many games in too short a time period. Blows my mind that CFL and NCAA would do this. Even high school leagues across Canada and USA are revamping schedules to make sure three games are not played in less than 2 weeks.

Game in between is a squash match with the opponent only there to get a paycheck. Expect mostly backups for at least 3 quarters for that one. Tennessee could play their 3rd string in that 2nd game and still come out with a victory.

Given the huge size of a NCAA roster they should have a much better time of lessening the physical impact of the tight schedule by spreading practice reps and game reps over a large number of players.

One thing the Tennessee Vols football team will have to content with that will not be a concern of CFL teams is the fact that their players or student/athletes will also be starting classes. Generally the first week or two of school is important. But then, ironically, I'm not sure how much the School really cares about that part. The story raises an interesting point because it shows how much the CFL coaches must cope with game preparation, mental preparation, player movement and injuries in an 18 game schedule that pushes 2 and 3 games together in a tight window. It's a regular occurrence in the CFL but as we can see in the story - a rare occurrence in the NCAA and non existent in the NFL
