Argos’ Johnny Sears Jr. inexplicable decision costs Toronto chance at win

Toronto defensive back Johny Sears Jr. made a perplexing choice not to touch Riders receiver Bakari Grant while he was on the ground.

With around three minutes on the clock, Argos within three, on second and 10, Kevin Glenn connected with a diving Grant for what appeared to be a gain the would keep the Riders short of a first down and lead to them punting the football. But Grant was allowed to get to his feet – untouched – and break Sears Jr.’s tackle attempt as he scampered 29 yards for a first down. That led to the game-clinching touchdown by Riders receiver Caleb Holley.
