Matt Nichols pretty much fell down on his own and it was called – and upheld – as roughing the passer by head referee Al Bradbury and CFL command centre.
Alouettes middle linebacker Dominique Tovell barely made contact with Nichols after he let the pass go. Montreal head coach Jacques Chapdelaine threw the challenge flag, but to no avail. Winnipeg eventually got a field goal from the drive being extended.
Well respected TSN analyst Duane Forde admitted on the air he would’ve overturned the call.
