More games does not necessarily translate into more viewers.
The CFL had its worst TV numbers of the season in Week 5 with its five-game slate watched by an average of 479,000 viewers on English-language TSN. That’s down slightly from the previous low of 480,000 in Week 3.
The rare Wednesday night tilt between Montreal and Ottawa was watched by a season-low 326,000 viewers on TSN.
Overall, average viewership on TSN is down 16.8 per cent compared to last season, with an average 494,000 viewers per game.
