Edmonton running back and return man Kendial Lawrence has been placed on the six-game injured list with a lower body injury.
He suffered the setback during the Eskimos Week 5 win over Hamilton.
Lawrence was cut by the team in training camp, but he got brought back after John White went down with a season-ending torn ACL. He had 13 punt returns for 100 yards and seven kick-off returns for 158 yards in two games.
The 26-year-old originally made a name for himself in Edmonton in 2014 and 2015 when he displayed playmaking versatility on offence and special teams.
That means Edmonton will have to find a returner replacement and a different backup to starting running back Travon Van.
