Konar had started three games in place of Canadian Cory Greenwood, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury just days into training camp, at the weakside linebacker position. Fellow Canadian Blair Smith took over to finish the game. National linebacker, former Redblacks fourth round draft pick, Kevin Jackson was signed this week to help bolster the depth at that spot.

That injury adds to a decimated linebacking group for Edmonton with J.C. Sherritt lost for the year in Week 1 to an Achilles setback.
