in regards to the 13 players on the pr, 3 are junior players who are exempt, so no rules have been broken.

OK, I get that but I still feel he is in over his head with all those jobs and he has too much control. If that is the case, maybe he should have stayed in Edmonton instead of go after the extra bucks/power.

Seriously, maybe that’s what you guys want, to win at any cost but look at what the brand Sask Roughriders represents and look at all the times they have been in the new for the wrong reasons recently, the stuff jones has done so far and tell me that you see it as a good match.

I see opposite ends of the stick, unless the way I branded the riders was too kind to begin with.

Riders had to offer more. He was already under contract as HC &DC to Esks. No reason for him to be let go by Esks as not a promotion. Riders wanted him bad so gave him the farm

Said it before and will say it again. I think he bit off WAAAY more than he can chew. yes, he is a workaholic and can handle DC and HC but to pile GM (inexperienced GM at that) AND…VP of football Ops on top of all that is too much. It is also too much control for someone unproven.

Biggest mistake…Not going to Sask as DC and HC. If he did that, your team would be better right now. The turnstiles are supposed to be where the fans walk in, not the players.

Yet another scenario is Jones has no idea what’s he’s doing and acts an emotion and impulse (like Trump)

His 1st GC came as a DB coach. The Argo GC was won with offence Owens was CFL MOP, Ray & Kackert were lights out in the playoff run. All except Esks were in his 1st year with the club so he certainly didn’t have much to do with the roster. Most of Esks GC team were already there. Bang on Patience.

Yes. Jones does have Grey Cup rings but most as an assistant coach. Only one as a head coach and none as both head coach and GM. In Edmonton, he wasn’t GM and so he could not play the revolving door game but had to work with the group of players that the GM gave him. He reminds me of a small boy who is given a certain sum of money and sent into a toy store to buy whatever he wants. The second day, he goes back to the toy store because he decides that there was a better toy that he should have bought. He continues to do this every day until, at some point, the money is taken away from him and he is kicked out of the toy store. Included in his purchases were some shiny new toys and some old reliable toys but none seemed to perform to his expectations when he got them home. Jones also can’t decide what he wants, old, young but none are quite perfect and some only play “moderately” well. Perhaps some of those Grey Cup teams won in spite of him, not because of him. He certainly doesn’t look like a defensive guru now. As a head coach, he looks confused and lost. As a GM, I am lost somewhere between laughing and crying. I don’t know when he will get kicked out of the toy store but if the record doesn’t improve, I certainly don’t want to see another year or two of this.
