Scary proposition as it may be…I do agree…sigh. And you can’t blame the TC fans…been more than patient.

What troubles me though is not that they are losing…but how they are losing. I can guarantee that Mosca and co. were throwing helmets (maybe even fellow players?) around when that 1972 team hit 1-3. Once Chuck got the feel of the Canadian game the team took off. Now compare that to this 2017 edition where you can barely sense a pulse. Where’s the emotion? Aren’t certain players tired of losing? Well, there are no Mosca’s on this team for sure, or Chuck’s for that matter.

As long as Chris Jones is making the in game decisions for the Riders, the opposition always has a shot. It seemed from his decisions that Jones was conspiring to keep Kevin Glenn from winning the Montreal game.

1981 started off as winning but collapsed at the end of the season.

That was 2015 – they were in the midst of the forest fire at the beginning of the 2016 season. Does anyone know if that stadium survived the fires?

1972 was 1-3 then 5-3 so IMO, it won’t count anymore than 1999 or 1986 either.

What are the win totals that measure a “dominant elite” team?

2015 had a 6-2 record, half way through … as opposed to a lot of 4-4 or lessor all the way down to 0-8 starts. The 2001 season did start as 3-1 but was 4-4 by mid-season.

The last GC win in 1999 was 2-2 then 4-4 before becoming an 11-7 season. The 1998 season started well at 6-2, ended at 12-5-1 with a GC loss.

Even 1986 was 1-2, 1-5 before a regular season record of 9-8-1 that was followed by the GC win.

I’ll have to keep searching for the winning at the start of the season.

I am really coming to believe that the early CFL start isn’t working. Start in early August like in old days — by Labour Day, interest will pique and gain momentum through the fall. Add at least another pre season game to get these teams ready. The Cats, it seems, need half a season to get their house in order –.
