You make some good points White Horse. I let go of the NHL during the year of the strike, 05 maybe. Always being a CFL fan, I focused on the Eskimos even more. And my wife and I cherish our season tickets on the 49 yard line. Nothing beats being outside watching CFL football during summer.

I was a season ticket holder with the Stamps for 27 yrs. I had to catch the transit train in the deep south of the city and a 40 minute train took me to McMahon Stadium. In Calgary we had some very lean years for the Stamps in the 80’s. Love of my team and the chance of a win was my driver. The Flames were always the talk of the town. Then along came Doug Flutie and Walley Buono and the passion became even more intensive. We went from 1971 to 1992 to win the next Grey Cup. Walley brought in John Huffnagel and the rest to this point is history. Now you know why the Eskimos and Rider fans etc are so passionate as well!!! Love the CFL

It breaks my heart as a CFL diehard to see such poor attendance in these three cities. I believe those cities feel the rest of the CFL cities do not have anything else to do. Bull—t. We do but we love and support our team. The NHL in Canada is sold out. OK
The CFL is the ultimate in exciting football. I believe our Canadian immigrants will embrace our game as their offspring progress through school. Come on Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, man-up and prove where the CFL is in your hearts as is the rest of the country. I personally would rather watch the CFL than the NHL!!!

I am the original Dave so since someone else started using it, exactly a I did, I’ll use BC Dave. It’s not quite the same as the Toronto situation, although a bit of that may exist in Vancouver. First, Vancouver is very ethnic is I think many of those people are not into football, although you’d think the second or third generations would get into it..
Next, it is a very Artsy city and third, as someone already said, that attitude many Canadian unfortunately have, that anything American is better than anything Canadian. So they will go to see the shithawks play.

It’s a shame. Such a beautiful building and half full at most. I live in Edmonton and even go to Vancouver just to go to games sometimes and those people are right there and won’t go?!?!?!?!

In reply to Blackhawk89. TV coverage is blacked out for Lion games, not sure that is a way to build a fan base. Eskimos televise their home games and get top attendance. Plus BC Place looks good but all you hear is reverb, like being in a giant warehouse. no atmosphere.
