Sheritt was hurt early in the second quarter, pulling up in the middle of the field despite being untouched. He was carried from the playing surface, then taken to the dressing room in a cart after getting some encouraging words from head coach Jason Maas.

Sherritt’s reaction said it all.

The 29-year-old Sherritt was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2012 and won a Grey Cup with the team in 2015. His loss – and an Achilles injury would be season-ending – would be devastating for the Eskimos.
