I think what Russell is saying is that some citizen of Calgary and Alberta as a whole see things more like Americans and republicans specifically. Not most, but some. I lived there for 12 years and most people were pretty cool, but there is that oil and gas thing going on which is where the different personality crept from. Then everyone from Calgary had some criticism of people from Toronto also so different folks everywhere.

um I have lived here my whole life. If you are here at stampede yeah I can see that. Calgary as every bit as metro has Toronto and Montreal. High end shopping, hi end culture and architecture, You ever been to downtown Calgary on a weekday?
